Idara ya Uwezeshaji Kiuchumi na Maendeleo ya Sekta Binafsi
The Department of Economic Empowerment and Private Sector Development is responsible for managing issues related to the private sector, economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians. This department is led by a Director and has two sections namely Economic Empowerment Section and Private Sector Development Section.
Objective
To coordinate and manage issues related to Economic Empowerment and Private Sector Development.in the Country.
Functions
This Division will perform the following functions: -
- Prepare, monitor, evaluate and review the implementation of policies, strategies, programs, laws and guidelines regarding private sector development, economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians;
- Coordinate the implementation of policies, laws, regulations and guidelines concerning private sector development, economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians;
- Coordinate research on private sector development, economic empowerment, and the participation of Tanzanians and provide appropriate advice on measures that can enhance the growth;
- Coordinate and monitor discussions between the public and private sectors through District Business Council (DBC) meetings, Regional Business Council (RBC) meetings, Sectoral Dialogue Meetings between the Public Sector (MPPD) and National Business Council (TNBC) meetings;
- Promote local content in all sectors to facilitate Tanzanians to participate effectively in the economy;
- Promote private sector participation in the economy;
- Provide professional advice to the government and stakeholders on the private sector, economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians;
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the implementation of resolutions from DBCs, RBCs, MPPD and TNBC;
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the performance of private sector organizations (PSOs) in the economy;
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of empowerment funds and programs; and
- Coordinate the establishment and operation of empowerment centers in the country.
This Division will be led by a Director and will have two (2) Sections as follows: -
This Section will perform the following activities: -
- Prepare, monitor, evaluate and review the implementation of policies, strategies, programs, laws and guidelines regarding economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians;
- Coordinate the implementation of policies, laws, regulations and guidelines concerning to economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians;
- Coordinate research on economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians and provide appropriate advice on measures that can enhance the growth;
- Promote local content in all sectors to facilitate Tanzanians to participate effectively in the economy;
- Provide professional advice to the government and stakeholders on economic empowerment and the participation of Tanzanians matters;
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of empowerment funds and programs; and
- Coordinate the establishment and operation of empowerment centers in the country.
The Section will be led by an Assistant Director.
Private Sector Development Section
This Section will perform the following activities: -
- Prepare, monitor, evaluate and review the implementation of policies, strategies, programs, laws and guidelines regarding private sector development;
- Coordinate the implementation of policies, laws, regulations and guidelines concerning with private sector development;
- Coordinate research on private sector development and provide appropriate advice on measures that can enhance the growth;
- Coordinate and monitor discussions between the public and private sectors through District Business Council (DBC) meetings, Regional Business Council (RBC) meetings, Sectoral Dialogue Meetings between the Public Sector (MPPD) and National Business Council (TNBC) meetings;
